The GMC Acadia statistics below describe the U.S. vehicle across the 2024, 2025 and 2026 model-year or test periods identified by each source. They cover dimensions, seating, powertrain, towing, fuel claims, controlled safety tests and a specific NHTSA recall population, with configuration and measurement limits kept explicit.

GMC Acadia Size, Seating and Cargo Statistics
The 2024 GMC Acadia brochure describes a three-row U.S. SUV with manufacturer dimensions and capacity figures. These are specification values, not measurements of every trim or loading condition.
| 2024 U.S. Acadia measure | Figure | Definition or limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Seating | 7 occupants | Capacity varies by configuration and trim |
| Overall length | 204.0 in | Manufacturer specification |
| Maximum available width | 79.9 in | Configuration may affect dimensions |
| Cargo behind first row | 97.5 cu ft | Maximum, with seats folded where applicable |
| Cargo behind second row | 57.3 cu ft | Maximum, with seats folded where applicable |
| Cargo behind third row | 23.0 cu ft | Maximum, with seats folded where applicable |

The brochure lists first-, second- and third-row legroom at 44.3, 41.5 and 32.1 inches, respectively. Corresponding headroom figures are 42.6, 40.0 and 38.2 inches, and seating position can affect usable space.
GMC’s comparison of the 2024 redesign with the preceding model says the wheelbase grew by 10.6 inches and overall height increased by 3.2 inches. Those are company comparisons with the prior generation, not an independent longitudinal measurement series; see All-new 2024 GMC Acadia: Bigger, bolder, more advanced than ever.
GMC Acadia Engine, Transmission and Performance Data
The 2024 U.S. Acadia uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in the supplied manufacturer specifications. Its power and mechanical dimensions are summarized below.
- The engine is rated at 328 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 326 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm.
- Displacement is 2.5 liters, with a 3.46-inch bore, 4.04-inch stroke and 10.0:1 compression ratio.
- The automatic transmission has 8 forward speeds, with a 4.69:1 first-gear ratio and 0.62:1 eighth-gear ratio.
- The final drive ratio is 3.49:1.
These are manufacturer engine and transmission ratings for the 2024 model year, not independent acceleration or durability results. The detailed specifications appear in the 2024 GMC Acadia Models brochure.
GMC says the 2024 Acadia is available with all-wheel drive, including an Active Torque Control AWD system on AT4. Availability varies by trim and configuration, as described in the GMC Newsroom redesign release.
GMC Acadia Towing, Weight and Fuel-Capacity Statistics
The 2024 brochure separates trailering, vehicle-weight and fuel-capacity specifications. They should not be treated as interchangeable limits.
| 2024 U.S. Acadia specification | Figure | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum trailering | 5,000 lb | Requires available Trailering Package |
| Maximum GVWR | 6,393 lb | Vehicle, occupants, cargo, fuel, tongue load and equipment |
| Base curb weight | 4,501 lb | Base figure; trim and equipment change weight |
| FWD fuel tank | Approx. 19.4 gal | Drivetrain-specific |
| AWD fuel tank | Approx. 21.7 gal | Drivetrain-specific |
Source: 2024 GMC Acadia Models brochure. Passengers, cargo and options can reduce actual towing capacity.
The brochure’s 5,000-pound maximum trailering rating is intended for Elevation, AT4 and Denali configurations in its powertrain table, but available equipment is still required and not every vehicle in those trims necessarily has the rating. The same towing table lists a 3.49:1 axle ratio for the powertrain with the available Trailering Package.
The difference between the maximum listed GVWR and maximum trailer rating is 1,393 pounds, but this is only arithmetic between separate manufacturer specifications. It is not a payload rating or a safe combined-weight rating.
GMC Acadia Fuel-Economy and Efficiency Figures
For the 2025 U.S. Acadia, GMC lists maximum highway claims of 27 mpg with FWD and 24 mpg with AWD. Both quoted claims use the 2.5-liter turbo engine, and the figures are GMC marketing claims; trim-specific EPA label values should be checked for an individual vehicle.
| 2025 drivetrain | GMC maximum highway claim | Measurement status |
|---|---|---|
| FWD | 27 mpg | Estimate/marketing claim |
| AWD | 24 mpg | Estimate/marketing claim |
Source: All-new 2024 GMC Acadia: Bigger, bolder, more advanced than ever. The advertised difference is 3 mpg, an arithmetic comparison of GMC’s maximum claims rather than an observed owner-use difference.
The brochure lists approximately 19.4 gallons for the 2024 FWD tank and 21.7 gallons for AWD. Multiplying those capacities by the supplied maximum highway claims gives nominal distances of about 524 miles for FWD and 521 miles for AWD, but this combines different model-year specifications and maximum claims; it is not a real-world range test or EPA combined range.
GMC Acadia Crash-Test Measurements and Safety Statistics
IIHS figures for the 2024 Acadia are controlled laboratory crash-test and headlight-test measurements. They are not owner-level reliability statistics, accident rates, injury probabilities or population outcomes.
| IIHS 2024 test measure | Result | Test context |
|---|---|---|
| Driver small-overlap lower hinge-pillar intrusion | 10 cm | Driver side |
| Driver small-overlap footrest intrusion | 2 cm | Driver side |
| Driver small-overlap HIC-15 | 85 | Driver dummy |
| Driver small-overlap chest compression | 18 mm | Driver dummy |
| Passenger small-overlap lower hinge-pillar intrusion | 11 cm | Passenger side |
| Passenger small-overlap HIC-15 | 82 | Passenger dummy |
| Passenger small-overlap chest compression | 24 mm | Passenger dummy |
| Moderate-overlap footrest intrusion | 4 cm | Updated test |
| Moderate-overlap driver chest compression | 26 mm | Driver dummy |
| Moderate-overlap rear-passenger neck tension | 2.0 kN | Rear passenger dummy |
Source: 2024 GMC Acadia IIHS ratings. The rating applies to 2024–2027 models where stated by IIHS.
In the updated side test, the B-pillar crush stopped 17.0 cm short of the driver-seat longitudinal centerline. Maximum torso deflection was 20 mm for the driver dummy and 27 mm for the passenger dummy; the negative intrusion value reflects the reported test geometry.
IIHS headlight testing for 2024–2025 model years measured average minimum useful low-beam illumination of 132.6 m on the straightaway right edge and 64.1 m on the left edge, at 5 lux. High beams provided 154.8 m on the straightaway right edge; these are test-track illumination distances, not nighttime accident rates.
GMC Acadia Recall and Production Statistics
NHTSA recall 26V114 identifies 69 potentially involved 2026 GMC Acadias in the relevant vehicle entry. This is a potentially involved population, not a count of confirmed defects, injuries, completed repairs or unrepaired vehicles.
The listed vehicles were produced from May 22, 2025 through February 23, 2026. That production window applies to the recall population and does not represent all Acadia production.
The Part 573 Safety Recall Report 26V114 identifies FMVSS 208, occupant crash protection, as the applicable federal standard. This is a regulatory classification for the 2026 recall report, not a crash-outcome rate.
